Female Hair Transplants

Women can be great candidates for hair transplantation and follicular unit techniques are particularly suited to female hair loss. Just like with men, results will depend on the degree of hair loss, the quality of remaining hair, and their expectations.  Important differences do exist between transplantations in men and women.

To a certain extent, if surgery gives a man any hair restoration, he is happy as he understands that most men have some hair loss and anything he can get back into the balding areas helps...

A woman, on the other hand, frequently will not be happy unless she has the appearance of full thickness after a transplant. A thinning look may still be unacceptable.

If \'women\'s is even moderately advanced, hair transplants may not be able to deliver the full thickness she desires and the donor area may be more limited.  Whereas men typically have good hair remaining on the sides of their scalps above their ears, unfortunately, many women will have thin hair in this area making it unsuitable for transplantation.  However, even in these conditions some distinct improvement can be expected.

The best approach is to seek a hair transplant surgeon who is experienced and skilled in the area of female hair transplantation.  There's no substitute for good, personal advice.
